CrowdIJ is a project that exploits the power of NOSQL graph databases to facilitate the discovery of connections in real time media events. WIth an ad hoc schema and the ability for literally millions of users to add to the subject-specific database, CrowdIJ will allow all of us to participate in finding out the truth.
The power of investigative journalism lies in a reporter's ability to dig into sources, interview even the most tangential players and piece together the big picture. Most often, it is the hidden links between people and events that reveal the most compelling parts of the story. With CrowdIJ, everyone will be able to add to and explore the web of links that emerge in the most telling stories of our time. We are all witnesses to history and now we can all be investigators as well.
